Bonfire chicken

    20mins, plus 2 hours marinating

    20mins fry time, or longer if oven roasting
  • Total Time
    40mins plus marinating time

In manner of all thing’s bonfire night, we've been whipping up a storm with my Bonfire Fried Chicken Recipe!

Serves: 1 chicken to feed 4

  • 1 chicken, cut into portions with the skin left on

  • The juice of a whole fresh lemon

  • 1 tbsp chopped flat-leaf parsley

  • a pinch of salt and pepper for seasoning

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 cup pre-prepared breadcrumbs

  • 1 tsp. oil

  • 1 tsp. paprika

  • Your preferred oil for frying

  • Season your Herb Fed Chicken with lemon juice, parsley and season to taste. Marinade for a minimum of 2 hours

  • Beat an egg and add a teaspoon each of oil and water. Brush the mixture onto your chicken

  • Toss the chicken in the breadcrumbs to coat it

  • Heat your preferred cooking oil until it reaches its smoking point, add in the chicken carefully and allow to fry for 15 minutes

  • If you want your chicken even crispier, bake in the oven on moderate heat for ten further minutes

  • Add a side of hot potato wedges with paprika and sour crème with a sprinkle of chives to top. Hope you’ll love it!
