Spilman Asparagus – 250g bundle
Spring brings one of Britain’s best food moments, and we’re proud to bring Spilman Asparagus, grown just a few miles from us, to the Herb Fed shop.
Grown by the Spilman family since 1970, every spear is hand-cut, graded and packed fresh the same day for outstanding flavour. Supporting local producers and celebrating seasonality is at our core. Grown on sandy Yorkshire soil and perfected over decades, it’s a true seasonal highlight.
Available April to mid-June only.
Cooking Guide: In a suitably sized sauté pan, melt 30g of butter. Add the asparagus, season with salt and pepper, and sauté for 2–3 minutes. Add just enough water to cover the bottom of the pan, then place a lid on the pan and cook for a further 2–3 minutes, until tender.
Serving suggestion: A perfect accompaniment to a roasted, skin-on Herb Fed chicken breast, served with a tarragon velouté made from Herb Fed golden chicken stock.
